The wonderful Kate Crouch will bring her own personal techniques to the table and will be giving classes at the International Fashion Academy here in Paris. This intensive short course is an introduction to creative and technical knitting. Through the development of knit swatches, the course will cover the essentials of a diverse range of knit stitches, calculating gauge and tension, how to select and mix yarns, graphing, and draping. You will acquire new theoretical and technical skills!
Also, the cherry on the cake, students will have the opportunity to visit knitwear factories where they will be able to see how prototypes are developed.
Kate Crouch attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She studied dance and visual arts before moving to Paris at the age of eighteen to pursue fashion design. She graduated from Studio Bercot in 2006.
Kate lives and works in Paris, where she has designed knitwear and jersey for world-renowned houses such as Yves Saint Laurent, Thierry Mugler, Nina Ricci, Chloe, and Christian Dior.
